About Us                 

Check●Point Engineers (CPE) is a firm of dedicated Consulting Mechanical and Electrical Engineers established in Harare, Zimbabwe and has sister firms in Johannesburg and Gaborone.

The firm was founded by two seasoned registered Chartered Professional Engineers, Stenford Mutaringe and Michael Mawire, who between the two, have over 50 years regional and international work experience obtained at renowned engineering design firms.

Sten leads the building services team responsible for Mechanical, Sustainability & Fire Services.

Sten is a Registered Professional Engineer in South Africa and Zimbabwe and with over 30 years experience, is a Green Star Accredited Professional and Assessor for the Green Building Council of South Africa and has contributed immensely to the development of the manuals and tools for assessing green buildings.

Sten has further undertaken Fire Engineering studies with the Institute of Fire Engineers, UK, up to member level and has in-depth knowledge that is invaluable on projects.

Sten is supported by a group of senior mechanical engineers and technicians with vast experience to deliver complex projects to international standards but appropriate to local conditions.

The team has vast experience on projects across Africa in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho and South Africa.

Sustainability       

As an organization, we are aware that the impact of climate change to global economic and social trends is tremendous and our professionals in the built environment can make our contribution by designing building services that demonstrate that we are responsible citizens in the world we live today. Mike leads the building services team responsible for Electrical Engineering.

Mike is a Chartered Professional Engineer who has over 25 years’ experience in Electrical Building Services Engineering obtained at leading firms in several countries including Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, Republic of Ireland, Nigeria, South Africa, United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and Sultanate of Oman. He is involved in the design management and co-ordination, from the inception through to completion of diverse new build and refurbishment projects spanning from Institutional Buildings and Commercial Office Blocks to Shopping Malls and Industrial projects.
